Who We Are

YouBeYou is a teen mental health campaign that was created in response to the rising suicide rates among teens and seeks to spread a message of self-acceptance.

The campaign was developed by Bernstein-Rein Advertising in collaboration with the Greater Kansas City Mental Health Coalition and Jewish Family Services of Greater Kansas City. These partners determined that more mental health resources need to be provided to teens in middle and high schools. Implementation of the campaign in schools is led by students, in consultation with the You Be You partners and the school administration. Learn more »

Do you know about self-care check-ins? It is important to take care of yourself before you help out your friends and family members. Use Sources of Strength's checklist as a resource! https://h5v.515.myftpupload.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Self-Care-Check-In.pdf

Help the JFS Food Pantry provide a little extra for Thanksgiving. We challenge you to put together a Thanksgiving Meal Kit! The kit should include 1 box of stuffing, 2 cans of pumpkin filling, 2 cans of green beans, 1 can of mushroom soup, a box of mashed potatoes, 2 cans of sweet potatoes or yams, 1 bag of marshmallows, 2 boxes of macaroni and cheese, 1 bag/box of rice, 1 package of cornbread mix, 1 package of gravy mix, 1 package of French-fried onions, a package of holiday napkins or paper plates, and a homemade “Happy Thanksgiving” card. Please place the items in a reusable grocery bag. Bags can be dropped off curbside on Sunday, November 21 at the JCC from 10 a.m. to noon or placed in the JFS barrels during the JCC’s normal business hours. https://www.jfskc.org/build-a-thanksgiving-meal-kit/
